Airport transfers · 2026-09-19 · 8-minute read
Dalaman Airport (DLM) serves the western end of Turkey's Mediterranean coast - the Turquoise Coast, in the brochures - and from May to October it handles the British, German, Dutch and Scandinavian holiday traffic to a string of resorts in both directions: Marmaris and Icmeler to the west, Fethiye, Olu Deniz and Hisaronu to the east, Gocek and Dalyan close by, and Kas and Kalkan two hours further along a coast road that is beautiful and slow. The airport is modern and efficient; the taxi rank is honest; the private-transfer market is large and built on the Mercedes Vito; and the distances are the thing visitors get wrong. This guide explains the terminals, the meeting point, the drive times, the options and the prices.
Dalaman has an international terminal (rebuilt in 2018) and a domestic terminal a few minutes apart; a pre-booked chauffeur meets you in the arrivals hall of your terminal with a name board. Drive times: Dalaman town 10 minutes, Sarigerme 20-25, Dalyan 25-35, Gocek 25-35, Fethiye 45-60, Calis 45-60, Olu Deniz and Hisaronu 60-75, Marmaris 75-95, Icmeler 85-105, Datca 2-2.5 hours, Kalkan 2-2.25 hours, Kas 2.25-2.5 hours. Indicative private fares: EUR 35-55 for an executive van to Dalyan or Gocek, EUR 50-80 to Fethiye or Olu Deniz, EUR 70-110 to Marmaris, EUR 120-180 to Kas or Kalkan; a Sprinter for a group EUR 70-260. Book on the airport limo service page with the flight number and the fare is fixed.
The terminals
Dalaman's international terminal, rebuilt and reopened in 2018, is a bright modern building that handles all the European scheduled and charter flights; arrivals clear passport control (e-visa or visa on arrival for most nationalities; the queues in the evening bank from the UK and Germany in July and August can take thirty to forty-five minutes), collect bags and exit through customs into a single arrivals hall with the car-hire desks, the tour-operator representatives and a cafe. The domestic terminal, a few minutes away on the same site, handles the flights from Istanbul and Ankara that connect long-haul visitors; the chauffeur meets domestic flights there. A pre-booked chauffeur stands in the international hall at a named point with a name board, and the morning text says where. The airport operator's passenger information is the reference. Outside, the taxi rank is in front of the terminal with a dispatcher; the Havas buses to Fethiye and Marmaris leave from the bus bays; the car park where chauffeurs leave their vehicles is a two-minute walk.
The coast, and how far each resort is
The D400 runs east and west from Dalaman along the coast, dual carriageway near the airport and single, winding and slow through the mountains beyond Fethiye and beyond Gocek towards Marmaris; the mountain road to Marmaris is the one that surprises visitors.
| Resort area | Direction | Typical drive time |

| Marmaris | west, over the mountain | 75-95 min |
| Icmeler | west | 85-105 min |

Kas and Kalkan are the resorts marketed as Dalaman that are two hours and more away on a road that rewards a chauffeur who knows it; they are as close to Antalya's airport as to Dalaman, and the Antalya article covers the alternative. Marmaris's mountain road is slow with coaches in the summer evenings and the transfer runs to an hour and three-quarters in the peak.
The options and what they cost
The taxi rank. Licensed yellow taxis, metered, with posted approximate fares: about EUR 40-50 to Dalyan or Gocek, EUR 70-90 to Fethiye, EUR 100-120 to Olu Deniz, EUR 120-150 to Marmaris, EUR 200-250 to Kas. Honest, and the vehicle is whatever is next.
The tour-operator coach. Included in package holidays; two hours to Olu Deniz is common.
The Havas bus. Cheap coaches to Fethiye and Marmaris; fine for a solo traveller staying in the towns.
The shared shuttle. EUR 15-30 per person to the nearer resorts, sold online.
The private transfer. Indicatively, in euros, with the executive van (Mercedes Vito or V-Class, up to six with luggage) as the coast's standard vehicle:
- Executive van to Dalaman town or Sarigerme: EUR 30-50.
- Executive van to Dalyan or Gocek: EUR 35-55.
- Executive van to Fethiye or Calis: EUR 50-75.
- Executive van to Hisaronu, Olu Deniz or Kayakoy: EUR 55-85.
- Executive van to Marmaris or Icmeler: EUR 70-110.
- Executive van to Kalkan or Kas: EUR 120-180.
- Executive van to Datca or Bodrum: EUR 150-220.
- Sedan (E-Class): similar to the van; luxury sedan (S-Class) 50-70 percent more.
- Sprinter (up to 14 with luggage): EUR 70-100 to Gocek; EUR 100-150 to Olu Deniz; EUR 140-200 to Marmaris; EUR 220-300 to Kas.
- Round trip: about 10 percent less than two one-ways.
The private transfer costs EUR 10-40 more than the taxi to the nearer resorts and buys the name board, the chosen vehicle, the child seats, the direct journey and the fare fixed before you fly; on the mountain road to Marmaris or the long coast road to Kas the fixed fare is also a protection against a meter in traffic. The comparison is in airport transfer vs taxi; the Turkish market's place in the bands is in how much does a limo cost.
Which vehicle
The Vito or V-Class for up to six with luggage is the right vehicle for most families and the coast's default; a couple can book a sedan; two families, a sailing group with kit or a wedding party the Sprinter. Child seats are requested at booking and included. The fleet page lists capacities and the Sprinter limo article explains why the van is the vehicle for a resort coast.
Gocek, the gulets and the marinas
Gocek, twenty-five minutes from the airport, is the yachting town of the coast, with four marinas and the gulet charters that sail the bays; a transfer from Dalaman to a Gocek marina for a charter's embarkation is one of the airport's most-booked runs, and the sailing group with kit is a Sprinter booking. Fethiye's marina and Marmaris's Netsel marina serve the same market further along. The cruise port transfers page covers the timing for a charter's embarkation, which is usually an afternoon, and the private driver for a day article the day rate for a sailing group's provisioning run.
The return transfer
Dalaman's international departures hall handles the evening bank in summer - when the British and German flights leave together between 6 pm and midnight - with queues at check-in, security and the passport lanes; allow two and a half hours at the terminal in July and August and two otherwise. From Fethiye or Olu Deniz that means a pickup three and a half to four hours before the flight; from Marmaris, four to four and a half; from Kas, five. The chauffeur proposes the time when the return is booked; the IATA baggage guidance is the reference, and Turkish customs' rule on antiquities applies to the stones from Kayakoy as much as anywhere.
Days out
The Lycian coast is one of the great day-trip regions: Dalyan's river and the Iztuzu turtle beach, Kayakoy's ghost village, Saklikent gorge, the ruins at Tlos, Xanthos and Patara, the Butterfly Valley by boat from Olu Deniz, and Pamukkale's terraces three hours inland. A chauffeur for the day at EUR 200-400 handles the mountain roads, the parking and the heat, and the private driver for a day article has the day-rate context.
Booking
Enter DLM, the flight number, the hotel's or villa's full name and resort area (Olu Deniz and Hisaronu have hotels with the same names), passengers and bags, and the vehicle in the booker. The fare is shown in euros and fixed. The chauffeur's name, photo, vehicle and meeting point arrive by text on the morning of arrival. Antalya, Bodrum and Istanbul's airports are on the airports page, and the Turkish coast on the destinations page.
The resorts, briefly, for a first visit
Fethiye is the working town with the harbour, the market, the marina and the boutique hotels, and the base for the coast's boat trips. Calis Beach is the long beach beside it with the family hotels and the sunsets. Olu Deniz is the lagoon and the beach under the mountain, the most photographed place on the coast, with the paragliders landing on the promenade and the hotels behind. Hisaronu and Ovacik are the resort villages on the hill above Olu Deniz, with the bars and the British crowd. Kayakoy is the abandoned Greek village and the quiet valley of small hotels beside it. Gocek is the yachting town of the marinas and the smart restaurants. Dalyan is the river town under the rock tombs, with the turtle beach and the mud baths. Sarigerme is the beach resort nearest the airport with the large hotels. Marmaris is the big resort city across the mountain with the marina, the bazaar and the nightlife, and Icmeler its quieter neighbour. Kalkan and Kas are the far-eastern towns of white villas, boutique hotels and the Lycian ruins, two hours away and worth every minute. The destinations page lists them.
Two transfers, priced
A couple landing from Manchester for a week at an Olu Deniz boutique hotel: an executive van at about EUR 70, met in the hall, sixty-five minutes along the D400 and up over the hill to the lagoon, against the tour-operator coach that would take two hours with a stop at every Hisaronu hotel. A sailing party of eight landing from London for a gulet from Gocek: a Sprinter with the kit at about EUR 90 to the marina, timed to the afternoon embarkation, or EUR 11 a head, against two taxis at EUR 45 each that would not take the bags. The how much does a limo cost article places the Turkish coast well below the Western European band, and the Antalya article covers the same pattern at the other end of the coast.
Licensed operators, briefly
Turkey's provincial transport authorities license the VIP-transfer fleet with the D2 and tourist-transport permits, and the airport issues its own; the hiring a private driver questions confirm both, and the chauffeur with a name board at the named point is the licensed one. The what is a chauffeur article describes the standard, and the fleet page the vehicles.
The short version
One international terminal and one domestic; the chauffeur meets you in the hall with a name board; the executive van is the coast's vehicle; Gocek and Dalyan are half an hour, Fethiye and Olu Deniz an hour, Marmaris an hour and a half over the mountain, Kas two and a quarter; the fare is fixed in euros and includes the meet-and-greet. Give the flight number and the resort area, and the booker shows the exact fare.
